Introducing Our Updated Helios Fly-Fishing Rods
Fishing with the best just got better—our new Helios line redefines the next generation of fly rods with innovations for even better control on every cast. Orvis engineers built a rod that radically reduces tip displacement during the cast, solving the most stubborn challenge to fly placement. Experience direct energy transfer from your hand to the fly, so you can place it with effortless precision. You’ve never seen or felt anything this elegant. All Helios F and D fly rod models deliver perfect casts with easy distance and seamless control for delicate mends. These fly rods represent the culmination of exhaustive professional field testing, resulting in multiple Helios rod series that offer less swing weight, greater accuracy, and specialized performance. This Helios generation outpaces, outmatches, and outperforms any other fly rod you can find, even our pioneering H3 designs. The competition simply can’t come close to this revolutionary fly rod—explore the Helios Finesse (F) and Distance (D) fly rods to find the right options for you. When presentation is a priority, rely on the finesse of the Helios F fly rod for delicate, accurate fly placement, even in tight spots. If you're casting big flies in wind, the Helios D gives you the power and distance you need to land your fly right where you want it. We've crafted a Helios fly rod to elevate your fishing in any scenario, from small spring creeks to wide-open salt flats. For the very best in innovative fly rod design, look no further than Orvis Helios performance fly rods.

Mission Rods
Two-handed anglers, the Mission Fly Rod collection is the one you’ve been waiting for. We’ve borrowed engineering techniques from our Helios 3 collection to create this line of rods to suit a range of casting styles. This versatile line includes options to reach the far bank with a hefty pattern or drop a diminutive fly just-so—big or small water, there’s a Mission fly rod to suit your inclinations. Scandi lines or Skagit heads, this fly rod outfit handles each with an efficient, do-it-all ease. Mission rods dampen vibrations to put more energy behind each cast, a veritable angling autocorrect system that improves presentation and rescues botched casts. These forgiving fly rods offer impressive line control and excellent reach so you can hit the far bank of big salmon rivers or drop smaller flies with precision. Cast all day: Mission rods may be lightweight, but each is a casting powerhouse. The two-handed Mission collection includes compact fly rods to manage tight spots, versatile models that swap between big and small waters, and big-water beasts capable of heaving hefty patterns to voracious trophy fish.
Break it all down for easy transportation: Mission Fly Rods come in four- and six-piece designs, perfect for travel. And, they’re backed by our 25-year guarantee.

Recon Rods
Maps Not Included– Recon is the rod designed for the anglers who chase blue lines on topo maps and spend their nights bent over maps, plotting the next day’s adventures. Two-Handed Rods
The rise in popularity of Spey rods for big fish in big rivers over the last decade demonstrated a two-handed rod will cast where there’s little room for a proper backcast, into distant seams where a drag-free drift would be impossible with a regular fly-fishing rod. Advances in fly rod and fly line technologies have evolved hand in glove with technique to make casting a properly designed Spey rod a whole lot easier. But for trout fishermen, who needs a 16-foot rod? Enter the Switch rod, which offers the best of both worlds—allowing you to make conventional, single-handed casts or two-handed, Spey-style casts when your backcast room is limited. A Switch rod also works better when you need extra rod length for mending and line control. Saltwater anglers have found that longer Switch rods make it easier to cast over the surf, as well, enabling the angler to reach cruising fish beyond the breakers.
